Welcome to North Carolina Greyhound Adoption Promotion -- NCGAP for short. This organization was formed to promote the adoption of retired racing greyhounds as pets. Our focus is to raise awareness of these wonderful animals as companions through public outreach, programs, publications and events. We encourage people to consider a greyhound when they think about adding a new member to their family. To this end we provide information on North Carolina adoption groups. We are not an adoption agency, rather we provide the link between potential adopters and area adoption groups. We are young -- only a few months from a formulating idea to a non-profit (status pending). However, amongst our leadership and advisers we have many years of experience in greyhound welfare, adoption, and placing dogs. We are small, but welcome new participants who share our common ideals and goals. NCGAP is an inclusive organization that does not discriminate regardless of gender, race, religion, nationality, political affiliation or sexual orientation. All decisions focus on what is best for the greyhounds. We welcome your interest and invite you to join us as we craft what we will ultimately become. Among our leadership you will see people who you know and are familiar in the greyhound community. Our monthly meetings are normally held on the first Wednesday of each month from 7pm - 8:30pm. Our current site for meetings is the RTP location of Rudino's, near Miami Blvd. and I-40 (4911 Central Park Lane, Durham). Our meetings are open to all interested parties. For more information, email info@ncgap.org. We have lots of stuff that needs to be done. As we get things done, you'll begin to see more here on our website. In the meanwhile, you can reach us by phone at 877-85-NCGAP (877-856-2427) or by emailing us at info@ncgap.org.
